    Gluten Free Bourbon Balls

Thank goodness for Instagram, or I wouldn’t have even thought to make these delightfully indulgent holiday goodies last week! Calgary Glutenfree, another top-notch gluten free blogger, mentioned that their favorite way to use bourbon in baking was bourbon balls, and that sparked a full-fledged recipe hunt for how to make our own! I’d heard of these southern delicacies before but had regrettably never tried them, and after perusing various recipes, determined that I had everything I needed to make them right then and there. So I did. And I’m not disappointed with the result – quite the opposite! Now, apparently, the original bourbon ball was created by Ruth Hanly Booe…

    Gluten Free Chocolate Truffle Cupcakes

There is nothing quite like chocolate. The sensory flourish that envelopes you when taking a bite of chocolate ice cream, or the incredible nuance of the unfolding flavor in a snap of a thin dark chocolate bar. Or the other-worldly dreaminess of a truffle. If you’re already nodding in agreement, check out these other recipes too in addition to making these gluten free chocolate truffle cupcakes! The cupcakes themselves were divine, the perfect mix of deep dark fudgey chocolate and crisp, winter peppermint that feels like candy canes and hot chocolate and everything lovely about the holidays. You’re more than welcome to make a dozen cupcakes out of the cake recipe below (or double it for a normal, two-dozen…

    Chocolate Birthday Cake Truffles

If you’ve ever looked longingly at the far-too-adorable-to-eat cake pops that adorn the pastry displays in most Starbucks, hoping one day that the international caffeine empire might realize that making them gluten free wouldn’t actually be that hard (hint hint), you’re not alone. Despite my (albeit tiny) share in Starbucks stock, they still haven’t answered my pleas for decent gluten free options in the sweets department, and so I am forced to make my own way in this cruel world. And thus, these nearly-as-adorable birthday cake truffles were born, and boy are they perfect for your next special-day shindig. Plus, one 9-inch cake makes over three dozen of these bad…

Gluten Free Chocolate Crème Fraîche Truffles

Congratulations! You’ve survived perhaps the first of many holidays this season, and you’re about to get steamrolled by the rest. To celebrate this brief respite, in the quiet that hopefully is your house after relatives have left and before every corner grocery store starts playing headache-inducing numbers of holiday songs, we give you tiny bites of heaven (ie gluten free chocolate truffles, because, of course). They’re brilliantly easy to make, and we won’t judge you at all if you end up making an entire batch just for YOURSELF because honestly ’tis the season for self care and indulgence. You can also make more for your coworkers or those family members…
