This has probably been one of the most exciting partnerships we’ve done thus far: Isigny Butter! For those of us who’ve been following along with Sisters Sans Gluten for a while, you know that we LOVE butter. We buy it by the pounds for everything from cakes to cookies to brownies to buttercream and everything in between. Our freezers and fridges are constantly stocked with various butters for various projects. So when we pitched a partnership to Isigny Butter and they accepted, it was a DREAM come true. Isigny Sainte Mère is a dairy cooperative in Normandy in northern France where the dairy’s cows roam on gorgeous green pastures along…

Gluten Free Irish Soda Bread
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! In uncertain times, traditions (at least ones that still allow for responsible social distancing) are often my go-to to stay comforted. Chiefly among those various traditions is food: in all forms, from family, from holidays past or from more recent gatherings of roommates or coworkers or long-distance friends. Maybe now is even the time to create some new traditions that stabilize the uncertainty or ground us in delicious and memorable moments. One of the more holidays long-past traditions for my family is a big ol’ feast on St Paddy’s day, complete with hunks of corned beef, buttery cabbage, perfectly-roasted carrots, and even more buttery potatoes. Gluten Free Browned Butter Millionaire Shortbread
If you’ve never heard of millionaire shortbread (or gluten free millionaire shortbread, for that matter), you’re in for a real treat. The fanciest, most indulgent treatiest treat out there (maybe not but they’re not called millionaire’s for nothing). The theme of these decked out shortbread bars is: why not? Why not slather half an inch of perfectly squidgy caramel over the perfect slab of shortbread, and why not, on top of that, smear the most luxurious dark chocolate you’ll ever snap into? Gluten Free Brondies (Blondies + Brownies)
Brownies are the saving grace of gluten free baked goods. If nothing else quite works out, you can always make amazing brownies and no one will know they’re gluten free. They truly are the magic marker of the dessert realm. You can throw in beans, avocado, pumpkin puree, applesauce, anything! And brownies still turn out to be the most indulgent, gooiest, fudgiest treats you could ever ask for. How they manage this, I don’t know. It’s one of those baking secrets we all strive to uncover. But while we’re puzzling over the versatility and consistency of brownies, why not make some? And while you’re at it, make some cakey, buttery…

Gluten Free Macadamia and White Chocolate Blondies
All hail the golden-girl (or boy) of the dessert world: the Blondie. While you might be astonished, and rightly so, that anyone would want to make a chocolate-less brownie, don’t pass up these sugar-laden, butter-heavy squares until you’ve given them their proper taste-testing. Gluten free blondies are an old after-school favorite of mine – my grandma used to throw a batch of these into the oven mid-afternoon and drive to pick us up from high school with a few (still warm) bars tucked away in a paper towel between the front seats. Blondies will now forever take me back to those delicious rides home, munching on the melt-in-your-mouth, often-coconut-topped, blondies…
